Vermeer Vella, Kelly

Kelly Vermeer Vella is a farrier and journeyman bladesmith from Oakdale, California. Kelly was the first female Forged in Fire champion and has won numerous knife awards. She has competed in farrier competitions all over the world, placing fourth at the world championships and was named to the American Farrier’s team in 1998. Kelly is an avid hunter with both rifle and bow and also enjoys riding horses in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near her home.
