Rodgers & Sons - JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS, CUTLERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES, NO. 6 NORFOLK ST. SHEFFIELD, PUBLISHED CARVED FANCY BOWIE KNIFE, c. 1850-70’S, 12 ½” KNIFE, 7 ¼” saber and hollow ground fancy clip blade, file worked spine, deep multiple fullers, ¼” thick stock, bright mirror polish, no pitting or patina, no evidence of re-sharpening, with mostly fluted spine, especially nice. Bright mirror polish, marked “STAR CROSS JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS, NO. 6 NORFOLK ST. SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND.” Full oval high content silver guard, oval guard, with file worked edges. Bright nickel silver ferrule and bulbous pommel. Round carved wood handle, beautiful leaf carved on the front. Brown tube style leather sheath in near mint condition. From the outstanding David Hayden-Wright English collection, who passed in 2006. This knife is described in and photo’d p. 264 of his book “THE HERITAGE OF ENGLISH KNIVES,” published in 2007. The author describes this knife, out of all of his knives as “MY FAVORITE BOWIE.”

If you wish to use your credit card, there is a 4% fee for using a credit card. All knives and/or collectibles must be purchased, in full, within 90 days. Thereafter, we will put the knife back up for sale.

Shipping

All knives are shipped FedEx 2-day, insured with adult signature required upon delivery (unless noted otherwise). In order to ship your item(s) we need your full name, phone number, billing and shipping address and your email address.

Returns

Please contact us within three days of receipt for a refund of the cost of the knife: studio@farinafinearts.com. Shipping and insurance charges are not refundable. Returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee and credit card or PayPal processing fee. All items must be returned in the same exact condition as it was received and must be shipped fully insured via FedEx. Most custom knives are guaranteed by the makers we represent and most factory knives carry the manufacturer's warranty. We do not guarantee the durability of natural handle materials (such as bone, wood, pearl, etc...) or the reaction of any material to water and air (rust, oxidation, etc.) If an item needs to be returned due to our error, we may offer a full refund at our discretion. Any condition visible in our product pictures is considered to be disclosed and does not constitute an error or omission on our part.
