Integral Fixed Blade, Named: 180206.2, Hatchet Style with Blue Mosaic Bakelite Inlays, Colored Gems and Mother of Pearl by Juergen Steinau

This piece was made for the 2018 Solvang Custom Knife Show in 2018 and published in the Ultimate Blade book, China. Named: 180206.2, (Juergen doesn’t use names or phrases, so the collectors imagination is not limited to their own imagination). There are a total of 59 “windows” made completely by hand saw under a microscope, some windows are less than 1mm.

2018年美国索万定制刀展展品，刀身由

440B 不锈钢打造而成，单色钢材塑造成不同的平面与线条之后会更加突出立体感。刀柄镶嵌框架为镍基合金制成，选用电木，各种彩色宝石，珍珠贝母作为镶嵌素材。两面总计有59扇金属开窗，全部用手工线锯在显微镜下操作完成，最细小的开窗区域宽度不到1毫米。然而59扇开窗并非只对应 59块材料，大多数镶嵌材料是被切割成更细小的单元进行组合之后再嵌入的，宝石的镶嵌运用再次形成透视效果。通过不一样的镶嵌手法，塑造出与 160806.1 截然不同的视觉感受。

Exhibits at the 2018 American Sovan Custom Knife Show, the blade is made of
440B stainless steel. The monochrome steel is shaped into different planes and lines to highlight the three-dimensional effect. The inlay frame of the handle is made of nickel-based alloy, and bakelite, various colored gemstones, and mother-of-pearl are used as inlay materials. There are a total of 59 metal windows on both sides, all of which are completed under a microscope with a manual wire saw. The smallest window area is less than 1 mm wide. However, the 59 windows do not correspond to only 59 pieces of material. Most of the inlay materials are cut into smaller units and then combined before being embedded. The inlay of gemstones once again creates a perspective effect. Through different inlay techniques, a completely different visual experience is created from 160806.1."

Shipping

All knives are shipped FedEx 2-day, insured with adult signature required upon delivery (unless noted otherwise). In order to ship your item(s) we need your full name, phone number, billing and shipping address and your email address.

Returns

Please contact us within three days of receipt for a refund of the cost of the knife: studio@farinafinearts.com. Shipping and insurance charges are not refundable. Returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee and credit card or PayPal processing fee. All items must be returned in the same exact condition as it was received and must be shipped fully insured via FedEx. Most custom knives are guaranteed by the makers we represent and most factory knives carry the manufacturer's warranty. We do not guarantee the durability of natural handle materials (such as bone, wood, pearl, etc...) or the reaction of any material to water and air (rust, oxidation, etc.) If an item needs to be returned due to our error, we may offer a full refund at our discretion. Any condition visible in our product pictures is considered to be disclosed and does not constitute an error or omission on our part.
