Nick Anger is a bladesmith living and working in Johnson, Vermont. Anger’s work focuses heavily on forged pattern-welded steel and integral constructions. Utilizing the wide expanse of culinary forms to express relationships between chosen materials, Nick seeks to create thought-provoking combinations while maintaining absolute metallurgical integrity and function in his work.
Anger began making knives for use in the kitchen 13 years ago, finding most other forms were used quite less often in day-to-day existence. Only by using one’s work multiple times a day; receiving immediate feedback through action, is one able to grow and complete one’s understanding of decisions made in the execution of a proper kitchen knife. This functional knowledge combined with an obsession for forging unique pattern-welded steel has been a mainstay in Anger’s bladesmithing career.
